To create a Community start by clicking on + Organise in your user menu. Then click the + Create a Community or Venue button. Next you’ll be guided through the steps to create your new Community.
If you have a specific location be sure to provide the precise address as people often search for communities by location. It’s also fine to specify an approximate location e.g. a town or region. People will still be able to find you but the distance we display will be based on the central point of your approximate location. Sometimes communities simply don’t have locations so its fine to say your Community doesn’t have a location. It just means that people won’t be able to find you by location.
You must specify your main type of sport or activity you deliver. You can also optionally add additional types. For example your club may have a main type of tennis but also organises weekend runs and cycle rides.
Note that if you are going to organise Competitions in your Community they will only be configured for your main sport type. For example if you specify tennis as your main sport all the Competitions in your Community will be enabled with rubbers, sets, and games for scoring purposes.
If you also specified croquet as an additional sport, your Community will be listed in Playwaze as a tennis and croquet club but you will only be able to run recreational croquet Activities in the Community. See Organising multiple types of sport and activity for more information.
Make your additional information comprehensive and accurate as this is what people will see. Adding a cool image and an informative description will help you to stand out from the thousands of communities on Playwaze.
Finally, you’ll have the important choice of setting your Community privacy settings. See Community access control for more information.
