Promote an activity

As well as publishing your Activities to your members through Playwaze and your website, you can choose to promote them further - across the Playwaze marketing network. 

What is the Playwaze marketing network?

Playwaze works with Open Data through an initiative called OpenActive. OpenActive was initiated by Sport England with an objective to standardise sports and activity data so that it can be shared and published across any website or app. The simple objective of OpenActive is to help providers of sport and activity to better advertise their Activities and to make it much easier for people to find and book them.

A range of booking systems publish Activities to Open Data through OpenActive, and many activity organisations promote them on their websites. These include National Governing Bodies, Local Authorities and Active Partnerships. So, if you publish your Activities to Open Data they'll be seen by a wide audience of people visiting those websites - and increase the number of bookings you take.

How do I promote my Activities through the Playwaze marketing network?

It's really easy! When you create / edit an activity on Playwaze you'll be given the option to publish to the Playwaze marketing network. Select the box and your activity will be published to all the network's websites instantly. You can choose some to promote and others to keep private. It's up to you.

Will people be able to book my Activities through the Playwaze marketing network?

Yes. When people find a Playwaze activity on any of the websites in the Playwaze marketing network they can book and pay instantly. When they book, they'll appear on your booking register for the activity and become a member of your Community... ready to book the next one!

Can I just promote my Activities without having to take bookings through Playwaze?

Yes. You'll need to create a List Only activity on Playwaze. You can provide a link to your website, Facebook page or booking system. When people find and go to book your activity on any of the websites in the Playwaze marketing network they will follow the link you provide.
