Teams can either be added to your Community or they can be added as part of a competition entry.
You can control how teams are added and who can add them in Settings > Teams on your left panel menu.
These settings include:
- Who can add new teams.
- Who can add teams through team sign-ups (competition entries).
- Only allow teams to be created through team sign ups (competition entries).
To add a team to a Community go to Manage > Teams > Add Team. If you have enabled team categories and team types you will need to select the team category and team type in the team create form. Here you can also add a team captain. You can assign permissions to team captains (e.g. enter results, change fixture dates and times, manage team members) by going to Settings > Teams. A captain's permissions will only apply to the teams they are captain of.
Once a team is added the captain can add other captains to the team.
Controlled Team Entry
If you enable team categories and team types you can select the option for Controlled team entry (in Settings > Teams). When Controlled Team Entry is enabled the person adding teams will simply specify a number of teams to add to the selected team category / team type. For example, when adding 3 teams to team category = Finchmoor Club and team type = Mens 3 teams will be automatically created as follows:
Finchmoor Club Mens 1
Finchmoor Club Mens 2
Finchmoor Club Mens 3
